In a situation where the country is grappling with economic crises and a halt in production and exports, the insistence of security to attend the China exhibition at an exorbitant cost has become a hot and controversial topic. Does this trip and its enormous expenses really have a logical justification?
Astronomical Costs and Lack of Economic Justification
Reports indicate that the cost per person for this trip reaches 3 billion tomans, in addition to a 1 billion toman mission allowance. Although participation in international events can be an opportunity to showcase the country's capabilities, in the current situation where production and exports have drastically decreased, questions arise about the necessity and justification of these expenses.
The fact that such huge amounts are spent to participate in a foreign exhibition in a country with this level of economic problems is, in itself, questionable. Security officials must answer the question of what their expertise is in this trip and what achievements they will bring to the country.
Accountability of Security Officials
Undoubtedly, the public expects officials to address this issue with greater transparency. When the cost of the trip to China equals several times the minimum wage of a worker, can we talk about justifying these expenses? Has security been able to achieve tangible results in this regard, or has it merely settled for a recreational and exhibition trip?
It is time for officials and decision-makers to create more transparency by answering these questions and thereby restore public trust. Otherwise, these expenses will only become a subject for further criticisms and controversies.
